it was nice to learn about you, but, to be brutally honest, I was lured to your history by Tom’s voice; and it’s still what I care about most in the video. His sweet, gravelly, luscious voice. You seem interesting, even like you would be someone it wouldn’t be a pain to spend some time sharing space with, but I would follow Tom into the depths of the darkest back alley on Fremont street, lured by just his voice telling strange, slightly dirty feeling jokes. Your art couldn’t do that if it offered me blow and a lifetime of recognition.
If you’re a fan of Thor, the Muppets, and/or Jim Henson then this strip Caanan Graal did back in (I think) 2011 is definitely worth reading. You might want to put on "A boy and his frog" in the background while you do for extra emotional punch.
Caanan also hosts his 'Max Overacts' strip on the same site, and if you ever enjoyed Calvin and Hobbes then you might want to check out the archives (the link takes you to #1). I regularly laugh out loud at my screen while reading it, and I hope you enjoy it too!
side note:I probably made the same mistake all movie trailers these days seem to do where they reveal too much before the actual feature, sorry about that.
Since it’s not really clear in the frames above here’s a little (and I mean bare bones minimum) context that might be useful for those of you who don’t feel like clicking through to the actual comic. The Muppets are on a roadtrip when Mjolnir (Thor’s hammer) falls from the sky. While some of them are off exploring what this mysterious object is Thor, completely nude, also falls from the sky. Ms. Piggie kicks his ass (picture 1)and he develops a crush on her. Kermit picks up Mjolnir, taking Thors power and goes back in time to see Jim one last time(pics 2 & 3).
I hadn’t really thought about it concretely, but my little hater has been beating me for about 6 months. Today, though I wrote for the first time in what feels like an aeon. When I came across Jay Smooth and his newest blog Nil Doctrine it all clicked together and now it’s time to work out a schedule and stop letting myself get away from doing what makes my life liveable.
These are a few of my favorite versions of Matt Siren’s Ghost Girl character made by various artists for myplasticheart (some are even still available). It always blows my mind seeing the way that artists can take the same idea and end up with finished work that’s so diverse.
